Prison term of 1-2 years handed out in drug case

Amanda White

A Butler woman was sentenced to state prison in Butler County Court on Thursday, after being charged with heroin distribution.

Amanda L. White, 37, was sentenced to 1 to 2 years in a state correctional facility. White previously pleaded guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance on March 20.

City police were called for a suspicious person and found White in the women’s bathroom, according to court documents.

White let officers search her drawstring backpack which she was carrying, and inside, they found 48 stamp bags of heroin and what appeared to be three rocks of crack cocaine, documents state.

Assistant District Attorney Richard Bosco previously said the decision was to dismiss that case because prosecutors did not want to disclose the identify of the confidential informant.

White’s attorney, Public Defender Charles Nedz, previously said the deal was made “because (his client) accepted responsibility, pleaded guilty to a felony and agreed to serve a state sentence.”
