Excitement, applause and a sense of relief filled the air Thursday of the Smith Student Center Ballroom at Slippery Rock University.

The university's new President William Behre met with students, faculty and more members of the community.

“I don't know if it's possible to be proud and humble at the same time, but that's sort of where I am,” Behre said.
