Butler man, 26, sentenced to probation in threats case

Storm Comly

A Butler man was sentenced to probation in Butler County Court on Thursday, after being charged with threatening his former girlfriend.

Storm M. Comly, 26, was sentenced to 6 months of county probation by Judge William Shaffer. He was also ordered to pay court costs and a $75 fine.

Comly pleaded guilty Oct. 4 to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was initially charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats, and the disorderly conduct charge to which he pleaded was later added.

Butler police filed the charges after allegations that Comly made a series of ominous threats to his girlfriend.

Comly's ex-girlfriend, who lives on the 300 block of North Sixth Avenue, notified Butler police following several calls made by Comly saying he was “coming to her house (to) nail all of the doors shut and burn the house down with her family inside.”

The next day Comly called her again, this time telling her he was “going to cut her from head to foot and watch her bleed out,” according to documents.

He made another call to the woman later, according to a police affidavit, saying he was “going to come over to her house with some friends and it is going to be a good time.”
