Route 308 wreck sends one to a Pittsburgh hospital this morning

A woman was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital this morning after a head-on crash in Route 308 in Cherry Township.

Marion Township and West Sunbury volunteers worked about 30 minutes to extricate her from the Ford Focus she was driving about 6:30 a.m.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was conscious and talking to rescuers and complained of leg, arm and side pain.

Authorities said she was traveling south to work when a northbound Chevrolet Impala collided with her car.

The other driver, a man in his 40s or 50s, was apparently not injured.

State police are investigating.
