BUTLER TWP — The Butler School Board at its meeting Monday night:

Announced that it will not hold a public meeting this Monday as scheduled. Administrators will instead take the board on a tour of several of the district’s schools to observe leaking roofs and other things that need repair. The school board in November approved a $9.6 million bond issue for capital projects.

Approved a request for bids for 530 iPads, 540 iPad cases, charging carts and training for teachers. The iPads will be used by students in grades one through six for reading instruction. The equipment will be paid for as part of the district’s Title I funding plan.

Was notified about the implementation of a new administrative regulation that deals with access to school district network accounts. The regulation is within the school board’s policies, so no board approval is needed, Superintendent Brian White said. Per the regulation, access of network accounts, including emails of school board members, may only be authorized by the district superintendent, solicitor or school board president. It also states that the district will keep a written record of all searches of student accounts.
