Natalie Burick

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University hired one of its own for the position of director of disability services.

Assuming the new duties will be Natalie Burick, who was the university's assistant director for housing and accommodations in the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Burick earned her bachelor's degree from SRU in 2009, majoring in special education with a concentration in community programming for Americans with disabilities and earned a master's of education in school counseling in 2011.

“It's nice to be able to see students with disabilities be successful on this campus because there was probably a time in their lives when they thought, 'Maybe I wouldn't be able to go to college because (of a disability).' It's nice to be able to help continue their success at the university,” Burick said.

WINFIELD TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries named Tony Geitgey director of outpatient therapy.Geitgey is a 27-year veteran of the physical therapy field. He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in exercise and earned another bachelor's degree in physical therapy assistance.For the last 10 years, he has worked in the inpatient therapy department at Concordia at Cabot Lund Care Center.In addition to his physical therapy training, Geitgey is certified to teach Silver Sneakers classes.Geitgey and his wife, Alisa, and their daughter, Bailey, live in Butler.
