Today is the one-year anniversary of the day that we lost you, and the day we would be wishing you a Happy Birthday.

For the entire year, it has felt as though my life had ended too. But loss has taught me many things that I face each day with strength, hope, and happy memories. I still feel you near. What we had will forever and always live within my heart. When God placed you in my life, He gave me my soulmate – a perfect gentleman, compassionate and kind with more love and affection than I could ever wish to find – a husband with a heart of solid gold.

You also gave me three perfect girls, the greatest gift you gave me before you went home to God. All of the things that they do, big and small, remind me of you.

I will meet you again at Heaven’s gate and when I see you standing there I will no longer cry. I will put my arms around you and kiss your smiling face. The pieces of my broken heart will then fall back in place.

We love you so much, Happy Birthday – we know you are celebrating in Heaven.
