The crash happened when a car driven by Robert M. Stoey, 58, of Dubois, Clearfield County, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Cody Johnson, 18, of Butler. The collision pushed Johnson’s vehicle into a car driven by David Martin, 67, of Ellwood City.

Marshalek allegedly provided false information on a federal form that was required Nov. 3 when he attempted to buy a Savage Arms .22-caliber rifle.

When the information was entered into the Pennsylvania Instant Check system, an automated system by which gun dealers can determine if someone can legally buy a gun in the state, he was denied the purchase.

Police said Guyette acknowledged that he had smoked marijuana. A pat-down search turned up a metal smoking pipe in one of his pockets, court documents said.

In the vehicle, police found three marijuana buds and the end of a marijuana cigarette.
