Car crashes into Subaru dealership

BUTLER TWP — Two people inside the #1 Cochran Subaru dealership were hurt Wednesday afternoon when a woman drove her car through a glass window and into the showroom.

The Buick Lacrosse broke through a window that faces New Castle Road, hitting a desk inside the showroom around 2:20 p.m. The car also broke a second window from the inside.

The car was driven by Barbara Slagle, 70, of Ford Cliff, Armstrong County. Slagle was attempting to park in front of the building and confused the brake pedal for the gas pedal, according to a report from the Butler Township police department.Jesse Willetts, 25, of Butler and George Harff, 70, of Butler were inside the dealership and suffered injuries in the crash.Slagle, Willetts and Harff were all taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance Service, according to the report.One woman, who was inside the dealership shopping, said she had her back turned to the window when the crash happened, but heard a loud noise that sounded like an explosion.Firefighters with Butler Township Volunteer Fire District Station 3 knocked down the remaining broken glass from each of the windows and cleared the pavement of debris before the car was towed on a flatbed truck.Cochran employees declined to comment about the incident.A window repair technician was called to the scene Wednesday.
