Jazz Cabaret series moves into county

PENN TWP — A Jazz Cabaret series is moving into Butler County, and its first show is Wednesday.

Performing will be vocalist Donna Bailey and her musical group.

The series is moving from the main campus of St. Barnabas Health System in Gibsonia, where it has been for the last four years, to Conley’s on Route 8, which St. Barnabas now owns.

Bailey was the first performer when the series started, so she was invited to kick off the move to Butler County as well, according to Brooks Bartlett, one of the organizers of the series.

The venue will be set up to resemble a retro jazz club with individual tables and low lighting.

Concerts are planned quarterly, and the next is scheduled for May 9 with others tentatively to follow in July and October, all at Conley’s.

The series benefits the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund. Sponsor donations pay for the performers, and the ticket price of $12.50 goes to the Free Care Fund, Bartlett said.
