Dischman's boyfriend gets state prison sentence

Andrew W. Lucas

The boyfriend of an East Butler woman who allegedly overdosed while seven months pregnant was sentenced to state prison in Butler County Court on Tuesday.

Andrew W. Lucas, 37, was sentenced to two to five years in a state correctional facility by Judge William Shaffer.

He was also ordered to pay court costs.

Lucas pleaded guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person and possession of paraphernalia in two cases.

The felony charge stems from an incident on May 19 on Oak Alley in East Butler, where members of the Butler County Drug Task Force say he sold 10 stamp bags of heroin to an informant for $70.

The endangerment and paraphernalia charges stem from an incident June 22, where police allege Lucas’ girlfriend — Kasey R. Dischman, 30, of Butler — overdosed on heroin at the couple’s home on Tenth Street in East Butler. Dischman was seven months pregnant at the time.

Police said the couple’s 8-year-old daughter was home at the time, leading to the charges.
