Butler County split into three congressional districts
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has released the new congressional map that will be used for this year's elections and parts of Butler County will now be included in three different districts.
Under the map in effect since 2012, the entire county was part of the 3rd District and represented by Mike Kelly, a Republican.
The new map has part of Cranberry Township in the 17th District, which was previously the 12th District with Rep. Keith Rothfus of Sewickley.
Kelly, who lives in Butler, is now in the 16th District and the townships in eastern Butler County will now be part of the new 15th District, which was formerly the 5th District represented by Rep. Glenn Thompson of Centre County.
The court earlier this year declared the current map unconstitutional.
