Mary E. Ridenour

Mary E. Ridenour, 83, of Evans City passed away Wednesday while under the care of the Grove at Harmony.

Born Jan. 30, 1935, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Burr and Bertha Lotz Burr.

Mary was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City.

She enjoyed reading and camping. Mary especially enjoyed camping at Prince Gallitzin State Park near Altoona.

Mary was very committed to providing a home to numerous foster children.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Linda (Gary) Bailey of Evans City, Robert (Patricia) Ridenour of Harmony, Terry (Marlene) Ridenour of New Castle and William (Donna) Ridenour of Slippery Rock; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Marian Burr of Rochester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ridenour, who passed away Sept. 20, 2009; and her seven siblings, Betty Hollerman, Grace Sharp, Doris Burr, Eugene Burr, Margaret Johnson, George Burr and Kenneth Burr.

RIDENOUR — Friends of Mary E. Ridenour, who died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.Mary will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.Memorial contributions in Mary's honor may be made to Parkinson Foundation of Western PA, 575 Lincoln Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
