Alice Rebecca “Becky” Montgomery

Alice Rebecca “Becky” Montgomery, 80, of Pine Township passed away at Trinity Living Center Wednesday on what was her 80th birthday.

She was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Barboursville, W.Va., to Willard Cecil Cumpston and Margaret Macy Plybon Cumpston.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1956.

On Sept. 21, 1960, she married David L. “Monte” Montgomery, who preceded her in death in September 2011.

Becky had worked at Bashline — Oakhill Hospital and later United Community Hospital in Grove City as a nurse's aide and later a unit secretary.

She was an active member of Harmony Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.

She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, being outdoors, tending to her geese and most of all, being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle L. Cravener (Brian) of Slippery Rock; a son, Ronald N. (Darlene) Montgomery of Falmouth, Ky.; three sisters, Nancy Patterson of Portersville, Gretchen (David) Cumpston of Harrisville; and Sally (Ken) Bluedorn of Slippery Rock; and three grandchildren, Megan Cravener and her fiancé, Daniel Snyder, of Wexford, and Amie and Sam Cravener of Slippery Rock.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, David B. Montgomery; and her brother, Williard Cumpston.

MONTGOMERY — The family of Rebecca “Becky” Montgomery, who died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Additional visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Harmony Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 234 N. Main St., Harrisville with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Jones presiding.Interment will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
