Furka 70th anniversary
Joseph and Margaret Furka of Lyndora celebrated 70 years of marriage with friends and family.
Furka married the former Margaret Hancheck Feb. 7, 1948, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.
They have seven children, the late Cecelia George, the late Joseph Furka, Diana McCandless, Debbie Peitz, Theresa Czyzyk and Veronica Forcht, all of Butler, and the late David Furka of Saxonburg.
They also have 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Furka retired from Armco and was a steel worker for 37 years.
He is a member of American Legion Post 778, the Joseph T. Black VFW 249, Happy Hunters Club, Retread Motorcycle Group and Cubs Hall.
Mrs. Furka is a homemaker.
She is a member of Retread Motorcycle Group and the Cubs Hall swimming group.
The Furkas are members of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.
