Ashley Steighner and Justin McCandless

A Sept. 8 wedding is being planned by Ashley Steighner of Butler and Justin McCandless of Slippery Rock.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steven and Shelley Steighner of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Robert and Darla McCandless of Slippery Rock.

The future bride is a 2009 graduate of Butler High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

She is employed by Dillon McCandless King Coulter and Graham LLP.

Her fiancé graduated in 2007 from Portersville Christian School. He served in the Army National Guard from 2006 to 2009 and graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2013.

He is employed by the federal government.
