Key win for 'Jackets

Manke nets 20 in 44-38 victory over Knoch

Jenna Manke's 20 points helped lift Freeport's girls basketball team to a crucial section win over Knoch, 44-38, Monday night.

Emily Fraser and Gabby Fennell both scored 12 points to lead Knoch (8-10, 6-3).

Sidney Shemanski added 10 points for Freeport (11-6, 8-2), which plays at Shady Side Academy Tuesday.

Knoch hosts Valley on Thursday.

Mars 66, Indiana 34 — Lauren Wasylson scored 21 points and Tai Johnson 17 for the Planets (14-4, 8-1), who had a 25-10 lead after the first quarter and limited Indiana to four points in the third period.

Mars travels to Armstrong Thursday.
