Fire crews are battling a fire at 7749 Franklin Road in Cranberry Township near the Jackson Township line.

The occupants of the house reportedly got out safely.

The fire was reported around 9:30 p.m. and firefighters had the burning under control by 10:45 p.m.

Tanker trucks were needed as there was not a fire hydrant in the vicinity of the fire.

Police shut down Franklin Road in both directions while fire crews were working at the scene.

Cranberry was being assisted by the Harmony, Marshall, Adams, Callery, Evans City and Big Knob fire departments.
