5:36 p.m. Dec. 17 — Kayla M. Kashlak, 24, of Slippery Rock was charged with retail theft after an incident at Walmart, 400 Butler Commons. Police said Kashlak stole $689.34 in household items, tools and various merchandise.

Friday — No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at Moraine Pointe Plaza. Police said Richard Vensel, 80, of Pittsburgh was attempting to make a U-turn as he entered the lot and hit a vehicle driven by Laurie Stepanian, 76, of Butler. Stepanian’s vehicle was towed.

10:41 a.m. Jan. 10 — Hilary McCrea, 28, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness at Sheetz. Police were called to the store for an intoxicated woman in the bathroom and found McCrea, who was intoxicated and in possession of paraphernalia.

3 p.m. June 2 — Mark R. DeLess, 60, of Portersville was charged with sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities after an incident at Walmart, 400 Butler Commons. Police said DeLess made false reports on a firearms transfer form.

8:46 a.m. Sunday — No injuries were reported in a crash on Whitestown Road, Connoquenessing Township. Police said Daniel H. Coleman, 37, of Zelienople was driving a 2009 Toyota Sienna when he lost control, the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree head-on. Coleman and three passengers, Heather M. Coleman, 33, a 6-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were uninjured. Icy and untreated roads were determined to be the cause of the crash.

9:37 a.m. Sunday — Icy roads led to a crash on Whitestown Road, Connoquenessing Township. Police said Sheila K. Grieb, 42, of Butler was driving a 2012 Ford Explorer, when she lost control around a downhill curve and the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree head-on. Grieb and several passengers, John A. Grieb, 47, and a 13-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance Services, with Sheila Grieb and the 7-year-old suffering minor injuries, police said.

3:24 Sunday — Police are investigating a DUI incident on Pittsburgh Road, Butler. Police said a vehicle driven by Paul Hancheck Jr., 30, of Butler was pulled over after running a red light. Police said Hancheck was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and controlled substance and was arrested. Charges will be filed after a lab chemical test.

7:30 p.m. Saturday — One person is facing charges and three others were taken by ambulance after a crash on Leesburg Grove City Road, Springfield Township. Police said Matthew R. Holes, 27, of Grove City was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion TC west, when the vehicle drifted into the turning lane and hit a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LT, driven by John Williams V., 68, of Poland, Ohio, which was turning. Both vehicles were towed. Williams and two passengers, Linda Williams, 69, and Tina M. Williams, 46, both of Poland, Ohio, were taken by Superior Ambulance to Grove City Medical Center for suspected minor injuries. Police said Holes was found to be intoxicated, and DUI charges are pending.

2:45 p.m. Saturday — An Erie man is facing DUI charges after an incident on Interstate 79. Police said William H. Barrett, 62, was found to have been driving a vehicle which was located off the road in the median.
