Musicians play 'French Masterworks'

ZELIENOPLE — The Butler County Recital Series will present a pair of musicians playing “French Masterworks” on Saturday.

The concert will feature violinist Tanya Satteson, concertmistress of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Billie Jo Miller.

They will play works for violin and piano by Ysaye, Saint-Saens and Franck at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Reformed Church.

Satteson, a resident of Cranberry Township and a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, has performed across Canada and the United States.

She is a three-time national first-place winner at the Canadian Music Competition National Finals, and has appeared as soloist with several orchestras including the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra.

She was appointed Concertmistress of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra in 2013.

Miller actively performs as a collaborative pianist as well as maintaining a private piano studio. She served as a studio coach/accompanist at Carnegie Mellon University for many years, playing recitals and master classes, and has performed with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.Miller performed last year on the Grand County Concert Series in Fraser, Colo., and will return this fall to the Pittsburgh Concert Society Series.The Butler County Recital Series aims to share classical solo and chamber repertoire with the community through regular performances.For tickets and more information, visit www.butlercountyrecitalseries.org.
