The drama “Other People’s Money” opens Friday at Butler Little Theatre, One Howard St.

Curtain is at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, through Jan. 27.

[naviga:h3]Center plans student awards[/naviga:h3]

Ribbons and gifts will be awarded to the winners in this year’s Regional Elementary Art Show scheduled for Jan. 31 to Feb. 10 at the Butler Art Center. A trophy will be awarded for best school participation.

The reception will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 2.

Students of private schools or cyber schools or those who are home-schooled are encouraged to participate.

The entrance fee is $3 for up to 10 pieces per student.

Additionally, the Regional Middle and High School Art Show is planned for Feb. 21 to March 3.

The Art Center is open regularly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays, except holidays.

[naviga:h3]Young artist concert April 14[/naviga:h3]

The winner of Butler County Symphony Orchestra’s 39th annual Young Artist Competition will perform during the symphony’s April 14 concert.

The symphony’s season will continue Feb. 3 with “The Planets.” This concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium and will feature Tom Mahovsky on euphonium.

JEFFERSON TWP — Sweets-O-Rama and a Dixieland Jazz Band will play at 2 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Haven I Dining Room, 112 Marwood Road.

In Mardi Gras style, entertainment, decorations and sweet treats will be available to all who attend.

Also, singer Lisa Rock and a trio from the Close to You Band will perform The Carpenters music at 6 p.m. March 4 in the Haven I Dining Room.

[naviga:h3]Youth musicians give concert[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra will present Simply Strings at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place.

The strings of the PYSO will play the third suite from “Ancient Airs and Dances” by Ottorino Respighi and “St. Paul’s Suite” by Gustav Holst. In addition, the program will include chamber music performed in varying combinations by smaller ensembles.

No tickets are necessary for admission, though donations will be accepted.

[naviga:h3]Museums offer free days[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — The Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History will have free admission on the third Sunday of every month in 2018.

Additionally, the Andy Warhol Museum offers free admission from 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays in January.

And a free Sunday is set for March 25 at the Carnegie Science Center.
