Man sentenced to state prison in child sexual assault
A Center Township man will be heading to state prison after being sentenced in Butler County Court on Wednesday to more than four years on allegations that he sexually assaulting a young girl between 2003 and 2013.
Michael D. Hedglin, 45, was sentenced to 4½ to 11 years in a state correctional institution by President Judge Thomas Doerr. He was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution.
Hedglin previously pleaded guilty to felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of person less than 16 years old before Judge Timothy McCune on Nov. 8.
He was initially charged after he was accused of sexually assaulting a young girl when she was 3-years-old in 2003, and again in 2013, when she was 13.
