Beale, Bauman spark Freeport

Ben Beale scored 21 points — including five 3-pointers — to help Freeport post a runaway 79-39 boys basketball victory Thursday night at Yough.

Isiah Bauman added 20 points and a pair of treys for the Yellowjackets (6-4, 2-2). Freeport scored 31 points in the first quarter to grab an early 19-point lead.

No one reached double figures for Yough.

McKenna Gross paced three Seneca Valley players in double figures Thursday night, but the Raiders (6-5, 2-2) dropped a 60-52 decision at Shaler.

Seneca Valley trailed by just two points entering the fourth quarter. Haley Cramer scored 12 points and Gretchen Koken 11. Koken also had eight rebounds and four steals.
