Butler bowlers roll to victories over Shaler

Butler's boys and girls bowling teams stayed unbeaten Wednesday with victories over Shaler at Perry Lanes.

The Golden Tornado girls earned their sixth 7-0 sweep of the campaign as Jordyn Graham rolled a 216 game and 590 series. Nicole Nebel had a 211 game and 567 series.

Butler's boys posted a 5-2 victory as Chris Huff had games of 226 and 225 along with a 633 series. Cole Thrash rolled 206 and 202 games and had a 576 series.

Both Tornado teams lead the WPIBL North section with a 6-0 record. Butler hosts Mars next Wednesday at Family Bowlaway.

In other action:

Freeport's boys dripped a 5-2 decision to North Allegheny. Mark Livingston had a 247 game and 648 series for the Yellowjackets while Issiac Spencer had a 246 game and 549 series, Blake Olson a 498 series.

Freeport's girls lost 7-0 to the Tigers. Sarah Fisher and Caitlyn Crissman led Freeport with series of 345 and 339, respectively.

Rifle

Butler nipped Hempfield, 798 (65x)-797 (62x). Shooting 100's for the Golden Tornado were Tiffany Carlson, Zach Freund, Andrew Arbanas, Cami Tack and Isaiah Lucas.

Girls Basketball

Moniteau standout Emma Bair was sidelined with an injury, but the Warriors still posted a 69-66 victory over Clarion.

Kristen Auvil scored 25 points while Izzy Bair tallied 24 points and 14 rebounds for Moniteau (5-5). Andi Arblaster netted 14 points.

Kate Constantino and Wendy Beveridge scored 23 each for Clarion.
