CRANBERRY TWP — A head-on accident Thursday morning sent one person to the hospital with injuries.

The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Franklin Road and Saige Court. A northbound vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a southbound vehicle head-on, said Sgt. Chuck Mascellino, with Cranberry Township police. A third car was involved but had minor damage and did not need to be towed.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with several compound fractures, Mascellino said.

The road was closed while crews were on scene and caused a detour for school buses transporting Seneca Valley School District students. Police are still investigating the accident, and charges could be pending, police said.
