Alcohol, speed factors in Rt. 38 crash

CENTER TWP — Alcohol and speed were factors in a two-car crash that injured three people, including a small child, state police said.

The T-bone crash happened just north of Marshall Offstein Auto Sales about 2:10 p.m. when a southbound Ford Taurus driven by William J. Lamark, 46, of Wall, Allegheny County crossed sideways into the oncoming lane, according to a police report.

Trooper Kenneth Walker said Lamark was subsequently arrested for drunken driving. He also was believed to be traveling too fast around a curve.

The other driver, Brittani M. Fedorek, 23, of Chicora, was unable to avoid the crash and her northbound Dodge Avenger struck Lamark's car broadside.

Fedorek and her 3-year-old son were taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt and the boy was in a child safety seat.
