Butler girls fall to Shaler, 41-38

Jenna Kunst buried a 3-pointer with four seconds left to draw the Butler girls basketball team to within two points at 40-38, but Shaler hit one of its two free throws at the other end and the Golden Tornado didn't get off another shot in a 41-38 road section loss Thursday night.

Butler (5-4, 1-1) dug itself out of an early hole and led 32-26 late in the third quarter.

But the Golden Tornado went the first six minutes of the fourth quarter without a field goal and with just one point to lose the lead.

Butler never got it back.

Kunst finished with 18 points and Alyssa Eyth added 14 for the Golden Tornado, who will host Pine-Richland Monday.
