Wreaths Across America Day held in Butler County, across nation
Joe Lofton of VFW Post 6231 in Slippery Rock places a wreath to remember those killed and missing as local veterans mirrored services being held on National Wreaths Across America Day Saturday.
Each December, volunteers place wreaths on individual veterans' graves in more that 1,200 locations throughout the United States, with ceremonies at sea, and at each of the national cemeteries on foreign soil and other ceremonial locations.
Sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution, representatives of the armed services laid wreaths in Diamond Park on Saturday.
