Water truck crashes on Route 68

OAKLAND TWP — A tanker truck loaded with 4,800 gallons of water flipped onto its driver's side Saturday morning, causing a long traffic tie-up while crews worked to clear the scene.

Paul Patten, the assistant chief at Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department, said the call came in just after 9 a.m.

He said firefighters and state police arrived to find the AIM Services truck cab on its side in a yard and the tank blocking the westbound lane of Route 68 across from O'Donnell's car wash.

Patten said the driver, whose age and name he did not know, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by East Butler EMS for evaluation of minor injuries.
