Monday — Coulter J. Walker, 19, of Slippery Rock was charged with drugged driving in connection with a September traffic stop on West Liberty Road near the Slippery Rock Catholic Church.

Police said they stopped the teenager about 11:50 p.m. Sept. 28 for having a burned out headlight on the vehicle he was driving. Walker admitted that he had consumed a small amount of alcohol before driving that night, court documents said.

He failed field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test at the scene confirmed he had alcohol in his system.

A search of the truck, police said, turned up a marijuana cigarette, Ziploc bag with three marijuana buds in it, a marijuana grinder and other drug contraband, a small flask containing alcohol and an empty bottle of rum.

Police took Walker to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test that confirmed he had marijuana in his system.

He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI by a minor, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, underage drinking, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, driving a vehicle with an open container of alcohol and a lighting violation.

Dec. 6 — Police charged Michael P. Connor, 22, of Butler with being more than twice the legal limit for alcohol following a traffic stop earlier this month on Woodbridge Drive.

Connor was pulled over shortly after 1:30 a.m. Dec. 2 after police saw his car cross over the white fog line “numerous times” on Grove City Road, according to court documents.

Connor admitted to having consumed alcohol, police said, but claimed he was “fine.” He subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test.

Results indicated that his blood-alcohol level was 0.192 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Connor is charged with DUI and disregarding traffic lanes.

Dec. 6 — Natlie M. Pierce, 19, of Harrisville was charged with drugged driving stemming from a July traffic stop in the parking lot at Slippery Rock Community Park. Police said the teenager was in the back passenger seat of the car stopped about 2:40 a.m. July 23 for a trespassing violation.

A search of the vehicle would later yield a cache of drugs, including 30 grams of marijuana and 3.09 grams of hashish, as well as an electronic scale, other contraband and $546 in currency, according to court documents.

The driver, Jonathan R. Sosa, 18, of Slippery Rock, admitted that he occasionally smokes marijuana, but he also acknowledged that he has been selling the drug since January.

Also in the vehicle was a 16-year-old girl from Volant, Lawrence County. Police believe the girl and Pierce had each driven to Slippery Rock to meet up with Sosa.

Police subsequently took Pierce, Sosa and the girl to Grove City Medical Center for blood tests. Toxicology tests showed Pierce and Sosa both had marijuana in their systems. The girl’s results were not known.

Pierce is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.

Police in September charged Sosa with felony and misdemeanor drug possession and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Those charges are pending in Butler County Court.

It was not immediately known if the girl was charged in Butler County juvenile court. Police did not return a telephone call Thursday.
