Snow causing traffic accidents in Butler County

The season's first snowfall with accumulation, albeit minimal, has already claimed several vehicle accidents on Butler County roads this morning.

Fire and ambulance crews are at a pair of two-vehicle crashes with injuries in and Cranberry townships.

One person was still reportedly trapped in a vehicle about 20 minutes after a crash at 6:52 a.m. on Glen Eden Road in Cranberry, authorities said.

Cranberry Township EMS and volunteer firefighters are at the scene along with township police. A county dispatcher said at least one person was injured in the crash.

A short time earlier, two vehicles wrecked on West Eldorado Road in Parker Township. The accident call came into the 911 center at 6:27 a.m. One person was hurt.

Emlenton EMS and the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department were called to that crash that may have been caused by snow-covered roads.

Emergency crews upon reaching the accident scene called for the township road crew to salt the road due to treacherous conditions.

Shortly after 7 a.m., meanwhile,a vehicle reportedly slid off South Oliver Avenue in Zelienople and ended up in a cemetery. No injuries were reported.
