[naviga:h3]2 fitness centers merge in Butler[/naviga:h3]

Focused Fitness of Cunningham Street has merged with Butler Health & Fitness on North Duffy Road.

The new venture will sponsor an open house from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Butler Health & Fitness, 215 N. Duffy Road.

Focused Fitness, owned by Conlan and Abbey Walsh, will conduct group exercise classes in the Duffy Road facility, which houses Zeigler Chiropractic and Wellness Center, owned by Dr. Dustin Zeigler.

Conlan Walsh said the business hopes to eventually employ all of its 10 to 12 instructors at the site which also features free weights, exercise bikes, weight machines and other amenities.

Zeigler said the open house will feature 20-minute classes, allowing visitors to try out different classes and instructors.

ZELIENOPLE — Deep Well Services unveiled its state-of-the-art Snub 11 unit on Saturday.

The Pittsburgh-based oil field service company designed the unit, a 300K rig that features higher pressure applications and reaches deeper, longer laterals.

“We designed this fifth-generation unit with the future in mind,” said Dustin Loiselle, Deep Well Services fleet manager. “We see where the market is going — deeper, higher pressure and more staging, and we built this unit to address these factors.”

John Sabo, the company’s vice president of marketing and business development, said the company has continued to make great strides since developing the first generation snub unit in 2014.

“This is the biggest advancement yet,” Sabo said.

[naviga:h3]Rex delivers checks for local charities[/naviga:h3]

CRANBERRY TWP — Employees from Rex Energy’s Cranberry Township office presented $22,500 in donations today to the Mars Home for Youth Foundation, the Lighthouse Foundation and Prospect Boys and Girls Club.

Each Butler County charitable organization received $7,500 as part of Rex’s continued community support, according to Michael Endler, vice president and Appalachian regional manager.

“These organizations do incredible work in the Butler County area and our employees are proud to support their mission and efforts,” Endler said. “We look forward to continuing to work with them and more of our community’s foundations in the future.”

[naviga:h3]Wal-Mart changes to Walmart Inc.[/naviga:h3]

NEW YORK — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is changing its legal name effective Feb. 1 as it shifts away from physical stores in the age of Amazon’s increasing dominance,

The world’s largest retailer, based in Bentonville, Ark., said Wednesday it will change its legal name to Walmart Inc.

It said the move underscores its growing emphasis on serving shoppers in different ways beyond just physical stores but also online, on their mobile devices and through pickup and delivery. The company has narrowed the gap between itself and Amazon by making big investments in its online business.
