ERIE — Numerous Slippery Rock and Grove City soccer players were recognized as the District 10 region all-stars for the 2017 season were announced Sunday.

Slippery Rock's boys had six players named to the Region 2 squad. Earning first team honors were senior forward Garrett Daugherty, defenders Chase Gill and Ryan Sproat. Making second team are junior midfielder James Gallagher, sophomore forward Ryan Davey and defender Nathaniel Willison.

Grove City was Region 6 champion and placed four boys on the first team: junior goalkeeper Ian Pavelek, senior midfielders Bereket Hoffman and Aidan Reed. and senior defender Will Kemeny.

On the girls side, Slippery Rock has five players on the Region 2 team and Grove City has three.

Making first team for the Rockets are junior defenders Emily Sarver and Tessa McHattie. Earning second team honors are freshman forward Ashley Shea, so-homore midfielder Kayla Daugherty and junior defender Samantha Harriett.

All three of Grove City's selections were first teamers: senior forward Camryn Skibinski, senior midfielder Josie Skibinski and senior defender Ashley McNabb.
