Food pantry

With the holidays approaching, the volunteers at the Petroleum Valley Food Cupboard want to thank everyone who make this food cupboard a success.

We are grateful for those who give of their time and resources. Thanks to the generosity of local churches, schools, businesses and individuals, we continue to provide nutritious food to anyone in need. Without the help and generous contributions and collections, this food cupboard would cease to exist. Thank you!

We also participate in distributing a free box of healthy, nonperishable foods each month to seniors. Products are provided by the USDA and include bottles of 100 percent juice, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats and stews, milk, cereal, peanut butter, and more. Each box also comes with two pounds of fresh American cheese.

The Senior Box Program is available to individuals at least 60 years of age, whose income is within the limits set by the program.

Our regular distribution day is the third Friday of every month. We can always use help from able bodied individuals to help carry food for those who are unable.

Anyone who needs food in Donegal Township, Chicora Borough, Fairview Township, Fairview Borough, Karns City, Petrolia, Bruin, Parker and surrounding areas can call 724-445-3574 to make an appointment.

Those interested in volunteering can call Pastor John Pistorius at 724-445-3540 for more information.
