BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College's Pioneer Players will present the Thornton Wilder classic “Our Town” Thursday through Saturday at the Succop Theater on campus.

In the quaint, fictional town of Grover's Corners, N.H., “Our Town” chronicles the lives of two families at the beginning of the 20th century.

One of Wilder's most notable plays, the show gives a detailed look into the lives of the Webbs and Gibbs families. Beyond the significant events of life — marriage, birth and death — “Our Town” takes an introspective and hopeful look at the human condition.

Playing the part of the Stage Manager, who guides the audience through the town and introduces its residents, will be Kurt Branby, who is making his debut with Pioneer Players.

The two young people who we see grow up over the course of the play, Emily Webb and George Gibbs, are being played by Jaley Cravens and Tyler Pollock.

Pollock was recently seen as LeFou in “Beauty and the Beast” with the Musical Theater Guild, and as Tom in last spring's Pioneer Players show, “Barely Heirs,” among a number of other stage credits.

Cravens has previously acted with Armstrong Community Theater and takes on her first principal role as Emily.

Other cast members include: Meghan Hyatt as Mrs. Webb; Wolfgang Gaiser as Mr. Webb; Victoria Allen as Mrs. Gibbs; William Lucas Franklin as Mr. Gibbs; Shaun Covington as town choir director Simon Stimson; Jacob Hecht as the town's milkman Howie Newsome; and Mitchell Skiles as the constable.

Featured roles in the cast also include Professor Willard and Joe Stoddard played by Jacob Hetrick, Joe Crowell played by Steve Beichner, Rebecca Gibbs played by Gabrielle Lisella, Mrs. Soames played by Laura Dowd, woman in balcony played by Samantha Tanner, lady in box played by Mackenzie Elmer, and Si Cromwell and Sam Craig played by Eric Homa.

Directing the production is Michael Beck with Gabrielle Barton as student director.

Technical director of the show is Alyssa Martin.
