[naviga:h3]Carnegie displays trees[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — The Carnegie Museum of Art Women’s Committee has decorated five seasonal evergreen threes with this year’s theme Beloved Children’s Books, featuring decorations inspired by ““The Cat in the Hat,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Jungle Book” and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.”

The trees flank the museum’s 18th-century Neapolitan presepio Nativity scene. Handcrafted between 1700 and 1830, the presepio is filled with lifelike figures and colorful details that recreate the Nativity within a vibrant and detailed panorama of 18th-century Italian village life.

The Neapolitan presepio will be displayed Nov. 24 to Jan. 7.

The Carnegie Trees will be on view Nov. 30 to Jan. 7.
