Steiner

Noah Steiner, 18, of Saxonburg was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on July 27 with Troop 58 of Glade Run Church in Cooperstown.

A Knoch High School senior, he is the son of the late Bruce and Deb Steiner. He is the grandson of Doris Herceg of Saxonburg and the late Andrew Herceg.

Steiner removed and replaced the base and paving stones at the Main Street entrance of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Saxonburg. Time and weathering caused the stones to shift and become uneven, creating a safety hazard. He also sanded, painted and repaired the iron railings to the church’s entrance and spread mulch.

Steiner has been scouting for seven years and has earned 34 merit badges. He has served as assistant patrol leader, troop guide and bugler, and he is a member of the Order of the Arrow with Ordeal distinction. He plans to attend Westminster College to study history. He hopes to pursue a career in teaching history.
