Clamorous minority

When we watch and read the news we can’t help but learn about the many changes taking place daily throughout American society. Changes happen so fast we can hardly digest the many issues before another issue arises.

Statues being moved or taken down and names familiar throughout our history being erased. Our very Constitution some tout as being out of date. Classic books are being removed from the school curriculum. Boy Scouts’ founding principles are being challenged. We ask ourselves if our country’s very foundation is being fundamentally changed ... for change itself? Is a small but loud minority being encouraged to enforce oppositional behavior for more nefarious reasons?

Kneeling and sitting during our national anthem for a variety of reasons could best be addressed in other legal ways. Long-held family roles are now in question as to reality and common sense.

The silent majority still clings to their informed identity as grateful Americans. The small but vocal minority will continue to disrupt. By voting, perhaps this challenge will result in the majority not remaining silent for long.
