[naviga:h3]State Rep. Ellis sets hours for veterans assistance[/naviga:h3]

LYNDORA — State Rep. Brian Ellis, R-11th, will host veterans assistance hours on Nov. 8 at his district office.

The office hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that Wednesday at the office at 6 Chesapeake St., Suite 200.

Larry Tuttle, a department service officer with the American Legion, will be available to assist veterans and their families in the district with compensation, pension, death benefits, education and health care issues, among others areas.

[naviga:h3]Hooker Road bridge work finished[/naviga:h3]

CONCORD TWP — State transportation officials say Hooker Road reopened Friday afternoon, after a replacement project for the bridge across Bear Creek was completed.

Hooker Road has been closed since June, when the replacement project began.

The work was performed by PennDOT’s bridge crew from Butler County.

[naviga:h3]Concealed carry seminar planned

State Rep. Brian Ellis, R-11, will host a concealed carry seminar at 6 p.m. Thursday at Lyndora American Legion Post 778, 150 Legion Memorial Drive.

The presentation and discussion will be led by Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe and Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger. License to carry applications will be available at the event.

Those interested in attending should contact Ellis’ office at 724-283-5852 to reserve a seat by Oct. 21.
