[naviga:h3]Alameda hosts Monster Mile walk[/naviga:h3]

Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road, will present the Monster Mile Family Walk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The event is designed for families with children up to age 10.

Families dressed in their favorite costumes will walk from the Masonic Shelter toward the Odd Fellow Loop. Wagons and strollers are encouraged.

Stations along the way will offer a pumpkin, a craft, face painting, time on an inflatable and candy.

There is an admission fee which can be paid at the start of the walk.

[naviga:h3]Halloween event planned on Main[/naviga:h3]

The Halloween Hunt on Main Street in Butler will be Oct. 28. Start times for the hunt will be every half-hour from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Costumed children ages 2 to 10 can collect treats from participating businesses on Main Street.

The event, organized by Butler Downtown, will begin at the Butler Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

Treat bags will be available, and there will be a craft activity. The hunt will end with story time and refreshments at the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

[naviga:h3]A cappella day set at Glade Run[/naviga:h3]

VALENCIA — There will be a worship event and festival for youths from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at Glade Run Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road.

The event is for youths ages 12 to 18. It will be a day of a cappella singing and harmony. Special guest coaches will be The Regulars and Sidekicks quartets.

[naviga:h3]Panel prepares Old Home Day[/naviga:h3]

HARMONY — The Lancaster Township Historic Records Committee will have Old Home Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Middle Lancaster Community Center, 113 Kings Alley.

Speakers will include: Lois Black on the Indian Museum, Paul McDonaugh on arrowhead collections, and Polly Shaw on Moraine State Park.

There also will be refreshments and door prizes.
