Cranberry Township emergency crews responded Wednesday morning, Oct. 18, 2017, to a vehicle fire on the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike. The vehicle on fire was a U-haul moving truck with “explosive ordinances” inside, according to police. Firefighters worked to put out the blaze as explosions scattered debris from inside the truck. No one was hurt Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2017, when a Jeep SUV crashed into a utility pole and hit the porch of a house in the 600 block of Center Avenue. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. Butler Police are investigating the crash. The vehicle was towed, and West Penn Power was called to deal with downed wires affecting one house.joe Genco/butler eagle
