Man sentenced in road rage incident

A Chicora man charged with threatening to kill another person with a knife during a road rage incident — as well as a probation violation for a previous driving under intoxication incident — was released onto house arrest after being sentenced in Butler County Court on Thursday.

Jamie T. Pyle, 47, was sentenced to nine to 18 months in Butler County Prison, with credit for time served, followed by 12 months probation by county Judge William Shaffer, after previously pleading guilty to misdemeanor terroristic threats, simple assault and summary driving on a suspended license on Oct. 12.

He was also ordered to undergo 75 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $500 fine.

Pyle was also sentenced in the probation violation incident to six months minus one day in the county Intermediate Punishment Program, with the first 30 days in county prison. He was given time served on that sentence.

Pyle has been incarcerated for 257 days, according to information given during the proceeding.

The charges stem from a Dec. 23 road rage incident between Pyle and another man, Andrew Jones, on Route 68.
