9:37 a.m. Tuesday — A 28-year-old man suffered a reported overdose of over-the-counter medication at the Family Services facility on the 200 block of North Washington Street.

An unidentified 911 caller claimed the man, who has no known address, overdosed on Tylenol and Mucinex, an expectorant, police said.

Butler Ambulance Service was also called and eventually took the man to Butler Memorial Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

8 a.m. Tuesday — A fight at Butler High School ended with a 16-year-old female student getting cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.

Monday — Brittany L. Lambing, 29, and Brannon J. Irvin, 30, both of Butler, were each charged with a pair felonies in connection with a series of alleged shoplifting incidents earlier this year at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.

Police said Lambing on 25 separate occasions between Jan. 3 and Feb. 16 failed to scan merchandise totaling $1,967.37 at the self-checkout registers, according to court documents. Irvin is accused of assisting her on 11 of those occasions.

Both defendants are charged with felony counts of retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft.

Wednesday — Earl L. Everetts, 27, of Karns City was charged with drunken driving and disorderly conduct after an incident last month at a fast-food restaurant at the Great Butler Mart on Route 8 south.

Police said they were called to the McDonald’s about 2 a.m. Sept. 24 for a report of two motorists “blowing their horns” and the occupants in the vehicles yelling at one another, according to court documents.

Everetts was in one the vehicles in line at the drive-through. Police suspected he was impaired but he denied drinking that night. He later failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.

Toxicology results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.203 percent.

Monday — An Evans City couple was charged with having drug contraband earlier this month during a compliance check by probation officers at their Wahl Avenue home.

Charged with possession of drug paraphernalia are Steven H. Strutz, 29, and Jessica M. Strutz, 27.

The officers had gone to the home Oct. 5 for Steven Strutz, who is under supervision by the county probation office, according to court documents. He and Jessica had been staying at the home with her grandparents.

Authorities found empty stamp bags of suspected heroin in a handbag in a room being used by the couple. Additional empty bags, a marijuana pipe, spoons and two containers of marijuana wax that belonged to the defendants were also seized.

12:45 a.m. Monday — Tyler L. Hockenberry, 33, of Harmony was arrested after he allegedly assaulted and strangled his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at a home on Shingle Hollow Road in Lancaster Township.

A trooper spoke to victim, Paula Gamble, 42, of Baden, Beaver County, at UPMC Passavant Cranberry, where she was treated for injuries in the assault, according to a police report.

Gamble told authorities that the incident happened at a friend’s house. She identified Hockenberry as her assailant. Police said she had numerous injuries including a cut on her head above the right ear, facial bruising and “hand marks” on the front of her neck.

Hockenberry was later arraigned on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment. He is free on $10,000 bail.

Friday — Police charged a Venango County woman with drugged driving in connection with a one-vehicle crash about 6:20 a.m. Aug. 25 on Route 38 in Washington Township.

The defendant, Sara B. Kirkpatrick, 36, of Emlenton, admitted that he had recently smoked marijuana. She failed one field sobriety test but refused to take any others. Police took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, court documents said, which confirmed she had marijuana in her system.

Kirkpatrick is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]

Monday — Police charged Harley J. Storrs, 23, of Kittanning with felony shoplifting stemming from an August incident at the Walmart at Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township.

Storrs is accused of failing to scan unspecified items about 3:15 p.m. Aug. 1 while using the store’s self-checkout aisle. The defendant, who has more than two shoplifting convictions, is charged with a felony count of retail theft.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Punxsutawney[/naviga:h3]

Monday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited six young men and women and one boy with alcohol-related offenses during homecoming weekend at Slippery Rock University.

Charged with underage drinking or possession of alcohol are Cassidy Bandzuch, 19, of Washington, Pa.; James B. Fleming, 20, of Monaca, Beaver County; Alina Glath, 20, of Butler; Ryan Holland, 20, of North Versailles, Allegheny County; Cole Perkins, 18, of Aliquippa, Beaver County; and a 17-year-old Butler boy, who police did not identify.

Police also charged Lindsi Gamble, 21, of Pittsburgh with selling or furnishing alcohol to three minors.
