Winning pumpkins on display at library

The Zelienople Area Public Library has officially announced the winners of the Fall Festival Pumpkin Contest.

ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Area Public Library has officially announced the winners of the Fall Festival Pumpkin Contest.

First place in children's division was Leo Markowitz, second place Julianna Faber, third was Lucy Ewing.

Children's winners will receive gift certificates to Room to Grow toy store.

Adult winners were Kristi Torba in first place, Gretchen Bernatz in second place and Patty Ewing in third.

Jackie Rohrman of Marion Smile Center and Tory Aquino and staff from Avada Hearing Care Centers served as judges for the event.

Winning pumpkins are displayed at the library.

Pumpkins were used to decorate business windows on Zelienople's Main Street during the festival, and festival goers could vote for their favorites.

People's Choice winners were Shawna Laughlin and Colin Milne in the adult division and Alaina Althouse, Paige Volz and Madison Haney in the children's division.

Gift cards were awarded to the winners. The Pumpkin Contest was sponsored by the Zelienople Area Business Association, Room to Grow and the Zelienople Area Public Library.
