BUFFALO TWP — Carl Bowser of Sarver won the DIRTcar Sprint feature during the Steel City Stampede Saturday night at Lernerville Speedway.

Bowser beat runner-up Jack Sodeman Jr. and Sye Lynch to the finish line.

Other feature winners in the season-closing event at Lernerville — that featured more than 200 total cars in nine divisions — were Matt Lux in Late Models, Rex King Jr,. in Modifieds, John Waters in RUSH Late Models, Jonathan Taylor in UMP Modifieds, Curtis Bish in Pro Stocks, Greg Dobrosky in 305 Sprints, Steve Slater in Sportsman Modifieds, Eric Boozel in 4-cylinders and Joe Campbell in the 100-lap Enduro.

[naviga:h3]Freeport’s Camerlo breaks college mark[/naviga:h3]

OBERLIN, Ohio — Freeport resident and St. Joseph graduate Morgan Camerlo broke the Westminster College 6K record Saturday at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble.

A sophomore on the Titans’ cross country team, Camerlo finished 11th overall and ran a time of 22 minutes, 46.5 seconds. The former school record of 23:11.2 was set by Jennifer Krueger in 2011.
