Two accidents really just one on Sunday

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital Sunday with a minor injury.

FORWARD TWP — State police are investigating an accident on Evans City Road Sunday afternoon in which one driver reportedly fled the scene.

A rear-end accident with one injury was reported at about 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Reibold Road and Evans City Road.

Evans City Seven Fields Regional Police Department units were subsequently asked by dispatchers to be on the lookout for a vehicle with damage that had left the scene and was headed toward Evans City. A Chevrolet Silverado with front-end damage was then found at the intersection of Evans City Road and Old Route 68.

Steve Bicehouse, Evans City fire chief, confirmed that the department was dispatched to two separate locations on Evans City Road at the same time for accidents Sunday.

The driver of the pickup truck, a man in his 60s, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by Butler Ambulance Service with a minor injury, Bicehouse said.

The occupants of the other vehicle, a Dodge Durango, were not injured.
