Tuesday — Police charged two Butler women in connection with a reported fight last month outside the Eau Claire Street Cafe & Sports Bar. The suspects — Johnnie Mae Nagowski, 23, and Whitney Ann Tucker, 22 — are charged with simple assault.

Nagowski and Tucker along with another unidentified woman had allegedly been acting up in the bar about 1:25 a.m. Sept. 16 and were thrown out, according to court documents.

The trio a short time later, a police affidavit said, jumped Angela Crawford, punching her in the face. Crawford, who suffered minor injuries, was unable to identify her assailants.

Police, however, eventually identified Nagowski and Tucker as being in the fight.

Tuesday — Kristi K. Kiefer, 41, of Butler was charged with misdemeanor theft after allegedly taking a pair of sandals, $20 in currency and shampoo Aug. 9 from the Butler YMCA on North Washington Street. The items, valued at $55, were stolen from the racquet ball court.

Police said surveillance video helped identify Kiefer.

Tuesday — Kristopher R. Brook, 35, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Oct. 2 when police found him passed out on the sidewalk on Lumar Drive near North McKean Street.

A Butler Ambulance Service crew tended to Brook, according to court documents, while a search by police turned up a syringe and spoon in one of his pants pockets.

Monday — Amanda L. White, 36, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct after police said she had crack cocaine and a crack pipe last week on the 100 block of West Diamond Street.

Police said they found White at about 1:20 a.m. Oct. 4 after being called for a fight outside the Lafayette apartment building. A pat-down search of White, according to court documents, turned up the suspected drugs and contraband inside a cigarette pack in one of her pants pockets,

7:48 a.m. Wednesday — Lorene Scott, 87, of Butler was hurt when her car collided with a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Route 8 and Filbert Road. Scott suffered minor injuries. The other driver, Robert Pilat, 69, of Butler, was not injured, according to police

1:26 a.m. Saturday — Zane V. Wheeler, 20, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband after police found him walking on Whitestown Road. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

7:22 p.m. Oct. 3 — Dyana Q. Nosse, 44, of Butler lost control of her vehicle and crashed into an embankment after hitting a speed limit sign along Delwood Road. Police said Nosse fled the scene and was later found at her home in the city. She was cited for hit-and-run and driving without a license.

Tuesday — Police charged Jeramiah V. Cubarney, 28, of Gibsonia in connection with a suspected repair work scam that targeted a homeowner on Keithwood Drive.

The victim told police that on Dec. 3 he gave Cubarney $1,500 as part of an initial payment for work at his home, according to court documents. In all, the project was to cost $3,000 but no work was ever done, police said.

Cubarney is charged with home improvement fraud, deceptive business practices and theft by deception.

[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]

Oct. 4 — A Slippery Rock University student was charged with having marijuana and drugged driving stemming from an incident last month outside an on-campus student housing complex.

Police said they found Brandon A. Vickers, 19, of Greensburg, Westmoreland County, after getting a call Sept. 19 for suspected drug activity outside Rhoads Hall. Officers smelled marijuana coming from his car, court documents said, and he admitted having recently smoked the drug.

Vickers allowed police to search the vehicle’s trunk, where officers found a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana and seven marijuana pipes. Police also seized a scale and $210 in currency that was with it, a marijuana grinder and packaging materials. A consent search of Vicker’s room turned up a bottle of vodka and a can of beer.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had marijuana in his system.

Vickers is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol.

9:05 p.m. Oct. 3 — Brett S. Heitzenrater, 19, of Freedom, Beaver County, an SRU student, was caught allegedly smoking marijuana at a picnic table outside the Suite F housing complex.

Police said Heitzenrater admitted smoking the drug and turned over both a vape pen with suspected marijuana in it and a small piece of suspected marijuana wax.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]

2:19 p.m. Wednesday — Richard Morrison, 28, of Polk, Venango County was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Hansen Avenue in Butler. Police said they also found him with suspected drug paraphernalia.

Charges are pending lab results, according to a police report.

[naviga:h3]State Police, New Castle[/naviga:h3]

Thursday — Police are investigating the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a locked shed last month. The 2004 Kawasaki was taken between Sept. 24 and 27 from a home on Wildlife Drive in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.

The vehicle was recovered Sept. 30 in a field on Copper Road about one mile from the home. A police report did not indicate if there are an any suspects.
