Grammy winner spends evening at Westminster College

Chris Botti will appear at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 as part of the Westminster College Celebrity Series.

NEW WILMINGTON — “An Evening with Chris Botti,” part of the Westminster College Celebrity Series, will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in Orr Auditorium.

Since the release of his 2004 acclaimed album “When I Fall In Love,” the Grammy Award winner has become the largest-selling American instrumental artist.

Most recently, his latest album “Impressions” won a Grammy for “Best Pop Instrumental Album” at the 55th awards show in 2013.

The trumpeter has performed worldwide and sold more than 4 million albums. His creative form of expression begins in jazz and expands beyond the limits of any single genre.

Over the past three decades, Botti has recorded and performed with artists including Sting, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga and Frank Sinatra, among others.

He also has performed with many symphonies and at some of the world’s most prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl to the Sydney Opera House and the Real Teatro di San Carlo in Italy.
