Tours of Preston Park in Butler Township will be offered on Nov. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. The 2- to 3-hour walking tour is available at no cost to township residents and their guests. Succop Nature Park, formerly the Succop Conservancy, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township, has a Birds and More nature walk at 9 a.m. Thursdays. Call 412-963-6100 or visit www.aswp.org.

Nautical Nature, the pontoon boat at Moraine State Park, operates cruises on Lake Arthur at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October. For reservations, call 724-368-9185.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will be the site of “Crayfish Talk” at 2 p.m. Sunday and Nature Detectives: A Prairie Puzzle at 2 p.m. Oct. 22. Moraine State Park will be the site of a Muddy Creek Oil Well Living History Exhibit from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday beyond the State Parks Region 2 office, 195 Park Road, Old 422 off Route 528, Muddy Creek Township. A program on Moraine History told through the Western Allegheny Railroad will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the State Parks Region 2 office conference room, 195 Park Road. McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, just over the county line into Lawrence County off Route 422, will be the site of a Hemlock Hunt Hike on Alpha Pass Trail at 10 a.m. Saturday leaving from the Point Parking Lot. A Fall Foliage Hike at 4 p.m. Saturday will meet beside the Kildoo Pavilion. Call 724-368-8811 or 724-368-3612.

October Star Party, sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, will begin at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting, at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park, near the village of Russellton, Frazer Township, Allegheny County. Call 724-224-2510.
