BATON ROUGE, La. — Farrah Connolly of Ellwood City was initiated into Phi Kappa, a collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Connolly is pursuing a degree in occupational therapy at The University of Findlay.

JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley High School students were introduced recently to The Challenge Program during a school assembly that included information about success in and beyond the classroom, career-readiness, and local career opportunities.

Five juniors and five seniors received awards for the work they accomplished during the 2016-17 school year in five categories.

The recipients were William Adams for academic improvement, Brandon Garzez for STEM, Kyler Lin for attendance, Justine Szurley for community service, Noah Reynolds for STEM, Chloe Rechkemer for attendance, Victoria Beck for community service, Jarrett Johnston for academic excellence, Ethan Cornelius for academic improvement, and Morgan Hoffman for academic excellence.

XTO Energy sponsored the awards and was the business partner for the school in 2016-17.
